83% of all layoffs announced in 2026 mention AI restructuring as the reason. Almost 65k jobs across 13 companies, in 5 months, tracked live — powered by a new thing we're exploring at @framesag.

Builds the layer where agents pay for the work other people already did. Frames Registry routes paid API calls, MCP tools, and embedded wallets through a single x402-shaped surface. Currently obsessed with HTTP 402, the AI-layoffs cycle, and what happens when every cached thought becomes a tradable asset.
The throughline is HTTP 402 — the "Payment Required" status code that's been defined and unused since 1995. luis's argument, repeated and amplified across the timeline, is that AI agents are finally the user it was designed for. Frames.ag is the company built on that bet: a registry of paid APIs (Twitter, web search, scraping, AI image generation, on-chain RPC) that agents can call through one wallet-mediated endpoint, plus the AgentWallet primitive that handles the 402 negotiation so the agent's code never has to.
Around that core, an ongoing live experiment: a tracker of AI-attributed layoffs in 2026. Frames Ag scrapes public announcements and pins each one to a "company cited AI restructuring" flag — currently sitting at 102k people across 5 months. Cloudflare, DeepL, PayPal, Coinbase all caught in the same dragnet. It's both a real public-interest dataset and a working demo of the platform underneath.
The personal layer: long-time builder (X account since Feb 2011), Portuguese, in Colosseum cohort 4. Talks about Claude doing in minutes what used to take weeks. Occasional bilingual posts. The kind of founder who'll quote-tweet a layoff number at 2 a.m. and ship a working scraper by morning.
The thesis"agents pay whenever someone else has already paid the fixed cost — data access, reasoning, synthesis — and is willing to resell it for less than it costs to reproduce. every cached thought becomes a tradable asset."
